Main ContentVascular Surgery Fellowship Application Information
The vascular surgery fellowship program at UMMC is a fully accredited, two-year program which accepts one new resident every year. We are a "5+2" program - five years of general surgery residency, plus two years of vascular surgery training. Eligible candidates to our program must have completed an ACGME-accredited general surgery residency prior to beginning their vascular surgery fellowship. Participation in NRMP ensures that the requirements of the ACGME and the American Board of Surgery are met in the selection process. ERAS applications are required and invitations for interviews are offered to qualified applicants.
As part of the ERAS application, this program requires the following:
- Completed ERAS application
- Three letters of recommendation
- Personal statement
- Recent photograph
- ABSITE scores
Appropriate applicants will be invited for an interview during which they will tour the facilities, meet the faculty, and speak with others in the program. The interview period will begin in early February and conclude by mid-April.
In order to be employed as a resident or fellow at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, an applicant without United States citizenship must have a permanent or a J-1 visa. A Mississippi medical license is required.
